Accentuate Custom Fields (ACF)
Modernization of an established Shopify application with an approximately seven-year-old codebase.
Accentuate Custom Fields (ACF) is an established Shopify app that lets merchants extend their stores with custom content fields beyond what Shopify offers out of the box. I worked on it as part of my employment at ShopCircle; the source code is private.
The app had an approximately seven-year-old codebase serving existing merchants, so the work was a balance between keeping a live product stable and modernising it: gradually migrating the interface from server-rendered EJS toward React, introducing new frontend capabilities, improving performance and fixing long-standing bugs — all without disrupting stores that depended on it.
